We are the go to resource for harnessing digital tools and capabilities to improve the lives of low-income and vulnerable New Yorkers. As part of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operations, the Accelerator + Connect unit uses policy, management and technical expertise to help produce better outcomes for residents.
As part of this unit, the Innovation and Design Team works with policy teams, City agencies, community-based organizations, and end users to analyze needs and opportunities and turn them into actionable digital services than can be designed, prototyped, tested, and developed.
The Innovation and Design Team is central to the work on all products and new initiatives by leading design and user experience, producing design materials, conducting user research, working closely with the internal and vendor technology teams for development, and setting ongoing strategy for products.
An apprenticeship with our team is an opportunity to grow your expertise in design, digital services or public policy and help improve the lives of millions of New Yorkers. We are currently seeking apprentices with an interest in design, product management, data visualization or public policy.
Apprenticeships are project-based, part-time and usually last 2-3 months. Projects will focus on the delivery, on-going success, and continuous improvement of digital services.
